As it was explained to me, the reflex between involuntary and voluntary control is often triggered by the arousals cause by apnea. when you are in deep stages of sleep, the urinary "sense" or urge is suppressed. I'm sure the mechanism is much more complex than that and unrelated diabetes and prostate problems cause very similar symptoms. Unfortunately, bladder control or loss of it was one of the bigger motivators to get help. Since starting on CPAP 3 mos ago, I never need to get up before morning to use the head.
