Amy - thanks for feedback. But, you said the words I was dreading to hear. No caffeine? NO CAFFEINE??? Ugh. God, I hope the study doesn't come back with that. I've often said that I could give up everything, up to and including sex, before abandoning coffee. ;) It's not just the drug part of it - it's the whole coffee experience. Being from Seattle, it's part of our culture! The smell, the taste, the feel of a warm cup in your hand in the morning - these are the small joys that make life worth living. And don't even mention de-caf! :) If it will help, and that ends up being the recommendation, I'll have to resign myself to it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it!
Oh, and I wanted to mention something I left out of first post. One problem that I do NOT have is being sleepy during the daytime. When I'm awake, I'm awake. However, I often have short periods lasting about 30-60 seconds where I feel "spacy." Everything seems to be happening very far away, and I am more like a passive observer than an active participant in what is going on around me. If I just chill out and wait a minute, though, it often goes away. This, along with the possible seizures, makes me feel it may be something neurological going on. But then again, I could just be getting a little hypochondrical. Gotta remember Occam's razor, and look for horses, not zebras.
