I can't imagine that the straps are causing your ears to be stuffed up, frankly, but the air from the CPAP can sometimes cause allergic-type reactions in the nose and ears. Many people, including me, have a severe histimine reaction to the air flow, causing extreme sneezing and constantly runny noses. I can't say for sure if this could be causing your ear problems but it might.

The way this is almost always solved for almost everyone is by adding a heated in-line humidifier to the CPAP setup, so that the air you are breathing is moist and warm. If you aren't using a heated humidifier it's worth considering. Your doc would have to prescribe it.
