alcohol and CPAP

Posted by kev on May 13, 2000 at 19:59:53:

My sleep doc said to cut out alcoho, since that aggravates apnea. But I miss having a couple of beers a couple times a week. If you;re using CPAP, which is supposed to be correcting the apnea, are you still supposed to aliminate alcohol? That is, if you drink two beers, will the Cpap not be able to do its work, since the tissue is collapsing more? Or is Cpap impervious to the effects of a couple of brews?
