The fact that you had a bloody nose makes me think all the more that you might benefit from a heated humidifier.
Don't be discouraged. Only a lucky few of us hit on complete success with CPAP on the first try. I had to go through a week of constant sneezing and nose problems before I solved it with a heated humidifier. I went through many nights of mouth breathing and fighting with chin straps before learning to keep my mouth shut while sleeping. The headgear drove me nuts at first. I switched masks once. I even finally had surgery on my nose to remove polyps and fix my deviated septum to make nasal breathing easier.
And yet I feel I had a very EASY time of it compared to others.
This treatment is not all that simple, unfortunately, although the equipment gets better and better all the time. Just hang in there, keep a positive attitude and a sense of humor, and be patient and inventive with your equipment. You'll be sleeping like a baby soon -- and be so much more wakeful during the day you won't believe it!
