Ears hurt after UPPP

Posted by Marco on May 14, 2000 at 19:59:21:

Hi,

I had UPPP last wednesday and I began to eat (jello, pudding, baby food) on friday. We are now Sunday night and it is still very painful when I swallow.

I noticed that if I go to sleep I wake up after a couple of hours and my ears hurt like hell ! I have then to sit up for 20 to 30 minutes until the pain goes. Even if I have taken Tylenol every 4 hours.

Did you ever experience something like this ?
How long does it take before you can try hot food (mashed potatoes, soup, etc...) ?
How long do we have to stick to the medicamentation (Tylenol / 4hrs) ?
What should be the humidity level when I sleep ? 70% 80% ???

Thanks for all your answers.
