I live in Michigan in a suburb of Detroit. They have excellent medical facilities in this area. I would think that you may want to try the Mayo Clinic--that is quite a large complex (I don't know if they do sleep studies, but I would imagine they would) and is located I believe in Minnesota--or is it Wisconsin?

I was in South Dakota last summer--a few days driving thru and stopping to see the sights. I loved it. However, you are right--not only do they not have outstanding medical facilities, they don't have much of anything except stark, beautiful scenery.

If the Mayo Clinic isn't for you, you might think about Chicago and make a long weekend of it. I'm sure there are several sleep clinics there and there's tons to do. I know that this isn't much help, but you are not in a very good georgraphic area to find good medical facilities without traveling great distances.

Please post how you are doing and when you having your surgery. I wish you the best.
