I'm wondering what's the time elapsed between normal breathing/oxygen and apnea/hypopnea and between desaturation and that adrenaline jump. It is that jump that is dangerous--the greater the jump the more stress on the heart. And what happens if the heart "can't jump high enough" to get you going? Does this mean you are more likely to remain in desaturation, therefore have more hypopneas?
It has occurred to me that I was given a printout of every single variable during my sleep test--except the EKG. Nobody even mentioned those results, about which I'm not only curious but concerned as I have an arhythmia that seems to be acting up.
Anybody out there who had the sleep doc talk about the EKG readings? Why do they take these readings if they don't share them? Are they just an indication of desaturation distress and further diagnostic point?
