I also attributed it to opening my mouth while sleeping with the nasal mask. It happened a couple of times the first night I slept all the way through, and then the next night maybe once and not again after that. I've been sleeping with it about 8 days since then.
I noticed I get a similar feeling if I open my mouth because the air pressure escapes out my mouth and it's hard to inhale from either my mouth or my nose.
I'm also supposing I've learned not to open my mouth. Unsure about that part. Can you learn to do something (or not do something) while you're asleep?
Also, I've noticed the more I use the system, the more I'm used to how to breathe with it. When I put it on at night, it doesn't bother me like it did the first few days. Sometimes when I wake up during the night I'm so used to it now, that I think it's not even working, but then I go to remove the mask and it's blowing away. I don't use the ramp feature at all.
