My CPAP sits on top of the plastic humidifier. I set the whole thing on top of the heating pad, the standard kind you can find at a discount store. I have all of that sitting on a small stool by the bed. I have been using the pad on the next to the highest setting and turn it on each night when I turn on the CPAP. I leave it on all night till I turn off the CPAP. I have run it on high, but it is a bit too warm for summer. I think it'll be good this winter, if my insurance company doesn't relent by then! Hope this helps.

P.S. My nose was always stuffy till I started to use the heating pad. It's helped a lot. No more stuffy nose!
