Itchy Nose

Since I started on CPAP a little over 3 weeks ago I have had problems with an itchy nose, especially at the tip and on the bridge (I use a mirage nasal mask. Last night I put a thin layer of lip balm (the kind that comes in the white jar with the yellow lid) on my nose to keep the skin from drying out. Well, it seemed to work fairly well. I am curious if this will affect the pliability of the mask. I don't think that it will since my nose does not come into contact with the mask. Any ideas? Thanks
