Carla: If you scan through the Forum you'll find different references to "dry mouth". Using a "painter's hood" seems to work for some people. Here is my response to "Duct Tape" originally posted on the 4th of July. So far it has worked for me. You may have to try different solutions until you find the one that works for you:
Thanks for the “micropore” paper tape tip. I found that as I became more comfortable with sleeping with the mask on I was waking up with “dry-mouth”. I purchased the tape and have been using it the past couple of nights. It has so far, worked out well. (I never thought I’d be taping up my mouth night but then again I never thought I’d be connected to a respirator either.)
If anyone else attempts this, I would suggest placing the tape on your arm or using your fingers to reduce the tackiness of the tape before putting it over your mouth. Pulling the tape off my lips in the morning was a bit painful and I think the adhesive seems to “set” while you sleep.
