After my first study I wasn't feeling better after about 6 weeks. In fact, I think I was even feeling a bit more tired.
Went to the doctor and she ordered another sleep study for a full night with the CPAP to have a look. They found that my pressure needed to be changed from 7 to 13. It seems they didn't really get me on my back in REM sleep during the first study. 7 was their best guess at that time.
After they raised it to 13 I was sleeping even worse. I felt terrible after the third or fourth night. Went back to the doc again. She noticed that during my second study I'd had 46 leg movements that woke me in the four hours I slept. (Had none the first study). She put me on a drug now for that.
Seems better now.
Go back and talk to your doctor and tell them how you feel. Have a look at the sleep study yourself too. You might actually notice something. For me I remembered during my first study that they'd awakened me during REM sleep to ask me to roll onto my back. When I looked at the study I noticed being aroused out of REM and never going back in to REM after that, so I knew he never got me on my back during REM sleep and maybe my pressure wasn't high enough.
Also, chin straps are important, particularly at higher pressures. I have a much harder time keeping my mouth shut at 13 than I did at 7. I got by without one at 7, can't at 13. Even when I'm awake I notice it's easier to have my mouth blown open at 13. Make sure you don't have leaks too around the mask. That can make a big difference as well. Also, it's harder for your partner to notice snoring when you have the mask on. It's just quieter. Try and notice when you awaken and when you are falling asleep if you have any sensation of snoring (vibrating in your throat), if you do, somehow your pressure probably isn't high enough. You should have no snoring at all.
Hope something here helps!
Good luck.
