Sleeping position

Posted by Bas on July 23, 2000 at 08:55:04:

Does anyone know if snoring/apnea will improve if sleeping in an upright position?
Does it help if I only would breathe trough my nose?
I snore and suffer with apnea in every horizontal position.. even when laying on my belly!
Ny nasal passage is very narrow and I am waiting for surgery which can still take up to a year. Here in Australia we need to wait unless we have lots of money.
Only after this surgery I can go to the "sleep clinic" where they will study my sleeping quality.
In the mean time I could do with some tips on how to improve my sleep...
I wake up tired.. headace.. moody!!
I can not get motivated to get on with things because I feel tired...
I wake my whole family with my loud snoring .. my kids are complaining .. my wife get's mad..
I am scared to fall asleep.. but too tired not to...
I stay up untill my wife sleeps and then I go to bed too, just to wake her up anyway with my snoring several minutes later, and my apnea worries her so much that she can't fall asleep any more and usually she has a rotten night as well.
Any tip will be very welcome.
