How long have you been using Afrin? You can get hooked after as little as 3 days of use, and it can be very hard to stop because your nose stuffs up worse every time you try to quit. I frankly don't remember what the doctor said about weaning off (it was discussed at an AWAKE meeting). The doc also said that the steroid prescription sprays take at least 2 weeks of use before reaching full effect, so many folks just don't give them enough time to work.

Call your PCP's office--it's possible a nurse can advise you and you won't need an appointment to see the doc. Then give the prescription meds time to work.
