There are forty pounds more of me after being diagnosed with OSA and having 3 years of CPAP.....I would suggest that you lose those 40 pounds--don't put it off! There is a lot of information flying around that CPAP may hinder efforts to lose weight and may actually cause weight gain--you may want to check out www.geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/4752/. That is a website I linked to from here and the info from medical journals (and the chance to e-mail a doctor with OSA) answered a lot of my questions.

It sounds like you have a heavy load at school. Do the sleep study and let your doctors assess where you are at. Untreated OSA only gets worse and you don't want that at 23!
