Posted by Laurie on July 26, 2000 at 20:34:28:I went to the doctor's office yesterday for my 4 month checkup. I explained to the doctor that I did well up until 2 weeks ago. I have started snoring and have been drooling even with a chin strap on and I had to get the strap so tight that I was getting headaches; therefore, I stopped using it and have started taping my mouth shut.
I am also getting up every 3 hours to got to the bathroom again and find that I need to take a nap in the afternoons for 3 hours again (I'm sleeping 12 hours a day now--normally I get 6 hours). He told me to take my CPAP in to the sleep lab and have the pressure raised from 12 to 13. I asked him if I should be retitrated and he said if I'm still have problems after the new pressure change, I may have another sleep study done--but that my first one (I had a split) was a good study, and I shouldn't need to have another one done.
Has anyone else had a problem with symptoms reappearing and then the doctor just increases the pressure? What if it needed to be lowered rather than raised? (I didn't think to ask the doctor that one). Any comments?
