It certainly sounds as though something's not working properly.

I do have one thought: if you're breathing through your mouth, the CPAP isn't helping you. Maybe a full face mask, rather than a pressure change, is in order.

Even if the pressure does need to be changed, it seems like a full face mask might be worth trying.

In any event, his advice seems reasonable. The point is, you should see some improvement pretty quickly if the pressure change is the right solution. Don't wait weeks...you should be able to tell in a few days if it's doing you any good. If not, be persistent.
