To be honest, the only time I have completely disassembled my mask was when I threw it against the wall at 2:00 AM during the second week -- the wall accomplished the disassembly, I finally found all the parts (I didn't even know what all the parts were for, or where they went). After a struggle I accomplished the re-assembly (not bad for the middle of the night after virtually no sleep!), put the mask back on, and went back to sleep.

I clean it every day as a unit, but otherwise have never completely disassembled it. Part of this is shear laziness on my part (laziness is also one of the reasons I don't use a humidifier, there is no way that I'm fastidious enough to get that cleaned out every day as I've read about others doing -- fortunately, I don't seem to need one even when I've used it in a desert climate).
