This is my first time posting a note. I was Diagnosed about 2 1/2 months ago with severe obstructive sleep apnea. I am frightened by all of the negative health issues that arise from having this problem and want to get it corrected now. I had problems going to sleep during my split sleep study, they determined my problem but I was unable to fall asleep again with c-pap so they could titrate the pressure. I am having a miserable time at night and feel I am suffocating on the machine. My Doc arbitrarily set my pressure at 10 and pretty much said go have a good life- call me with any problems. I have mixed feelings about continuing with this doctor. He is easy to talk to. I am tempted to go to a larger city where there is long term experience with treatment of this disorder. I have slept very few nights with my mask on all night because of the suffocating feeling. I have finally called the doctor and have an appointment today to discuss with him about sending me back for another sleep study to get the pressure right. I guess his answer will determine if I should look elsewhere for help. I live in a rural area. Any thoughts or encouragement will be greatly appreciated.
