Regarding Cue's statement "The owner of the forum has long walked the line between moderating it and controlling it... "

Many forget that the Sandman OWNS the forum and provides it as a public service. Although many who post here seem to think it belongs to the posters, it doesn't, it belongs to Sandman. No host wants boorish guests in his home, nor should a host be embarrassed into allowing said guests to stay when they don't behave in a reasonable manner.

As for myself, one of the RTs at my sleep clinic showed me how to change the pressure on my CPAP. I've done it, but only after being advised to do so by the clinic; I remained in contact with the RT staff for some time afterward so they could be aware of my progress. All this is because I've worked to have a relationship with the clinic staff, and also with my DME. While one can get loads of "info" over the Internet, it only supplements the relationship with the local service and health care providers, and they are the ones who prescribe and treat. Those who circumvent "the system" do themselves a disservice in the long run.
