Funny, I've only ever had one Whisper Swivel, but mine does the same thing - make awful noises at times and with certain masks.

I have never found a cure for it, except to avoid using the ramping feature on the machine. If I don't ramp, the Whisper Swivel doesn't squeal unless I'm moving.

Hope this helps. Good luck! How one can learn to sleep with a CPAP is still something I'm grappling with, even after a year of it.
