I think ear infections are a risk of using CPAP. I have found it helpful to take a Claritin daily to help keep my allergies more under control. I also use a Flonase/Nasonex corticosteroid, inhaled in the nose, to help keep the sinuses open.

When I'm really congested & sick, however, I either don't use the CPAP or really use the decongestants - like Contac or Sudafed - to help keep things draining.

Hope this helps at least a little. My insurance will only pay for basic masks, so I haven't yet experimented beyond that.
