Wonderful surprise! ( longish)

I had my appointment with my DME yesterday to reset the pressure on my cpap and to get a new mask. They brought out the breeze and the ultra mirage. After talking to the respiratory therapist I decided against the breeze. She said that my nostrils were small and that the breeze would stretch the to the point of discomfort. I tried it on throught the plastic and she was right. I couldn't stand the tugging on my nose even for a minute. I took the ultra mirage and WOW it's nice. Very comfortable. I like the way the leaks are sealed with the pressure of the air blowing and not some gel like substance. I don't know how much yet as she didn't bring a price list with her. Figures! Once it's open I can't return it. My original mask was a profile lite and it was around 85 so this one shouldn't be much more. At least I hope not.
I've found that if I take my nasal spray right before going to bed that I don't rip my mask off during the night. I had been having really good luck leaving it on for the last few nights. I forgot to take my spray last night and I woke up and the mask is laying on the bed next to me trying to get the bed to breath. I was like what happened. I tried to sigh and my nose was stopped up. Hmmmm....I nudged hubby dear to hand me the nasal spray that is on his side of the bed. I took it and with in about 5 or 10 minutes I was breathing better. I put the mask on and VIOLA! I slept with the mask on the rest of the night. No pinching, No mask trying to resucitate my bed. I feel better today than I have in quite some time. I actually was playing with the dog outside this morning. I can't tell you how long it's been since I felt up to playing with her. Much less in the morning. I usually wake up so grumpy that it's all I can do not to growl at her when she wants to go out to go potty. This is GREAT!
