First I use soap on the small pieces (including the filter). Then I soak them in vinegar for a while, and risnse thoroughly. For (built-in) humidifer tank, I pour in some vinigar, swish it around thoroughly, and rinse. For the hose, I also pout in vingar, keep a hand over both ends, and laternately raise on end and then the other as described in a nother psoting. Then I rinse the hose thoroughly too. I allow these small pieces to dry on towel and the hose to drain in the bathtub for about 15 mnutes. Then I reattach everything, and allow to blow dry (by turning on CPAP) for a 20 to 30 minutes. This drying also helps to clear any residual vinegar odor that my rinsing may have missed.
