Like you I also wake up w/my mouth so dry that I can't breathe. If literally feels like it has been glued shut from the inside. It scared me until I realized that I could will up some saliva, enough to get my mouth unglued.

I have found that I do breathe through my mouth. The force of the CPAP blows my mouth open. Because when I fall asleep all the muscles in my mouth (tongue) relax. I have tried the chin strap but the air still forces its way out the mouth.

Last night I taped my mouth closed and I did get a good night sleep. I only woke up several times, but I didn't wake up in anger or anxiety like I have been.

I hope this helps.
