Well, use fewer pillows under your head, and put a pillow between your knees when you sleep on your side. I discovered this during pregnancy and have done it ever since.
Also, it sounds weird, but try drinking a bunch of water before you go to bed. Eventually, you'll wake up and have to go. That will allow you to change positions. I find with the CPAP sometimes I wake up in the exact same position I fell asleep in because I sleep so much more soundly.
You could try putting boards between your mattress & box spring if you think the mattress is too soft. Too hard of a mattress can also cause problems, though. We were on vacation and I woke up barely able to move because of the rock-hard hotel beds...and then the way-too-soft bed at the house of the people we were visiting caused the same problem.
If you have to, you could set an alarm for the middle of the night. Then just turn it off, roll over to your other side and see how that works.
Good luck!
