Other Sleep Disorders

Posted by kev on September 07, 2000 at 19:28:57:

I've seen a few posts in the last couple of weeks that have suggested that OSA can mask other sleep disorders, and that a person should be tested for other sleep disorders.

How do they detect other sleep disorders? I had the overnight sleep study and the MSLT. They said I had OSA, but not hypersomnia.

If I had other sleep disorders, would those tests have revealed them?

and what other disorders are we talking about, besides the one that involves leg twitching (which I don't have) and Central Apnea (which they say I don't have)?

If I were to go back and "get restested for other disorders," would I essentially be getting the same kind of sleep study that I had donw when they detected the OSA?

Thanks,

Kevin
