I just read in two different places in the last several days about arrousals caused by repiratory effort which is independent of OSA (and treatment was independent of CPAP for OSA - if treatable).

Seems that one of those references might have been on this forum; perhaps by Keven from Walla Walla.

Suggest that you carefully search all postings of say the last 3 days (you can enter a date in the search engine).

The other was a study somewhere and I'll see if I can relocate it when I have time.
