Hi Jimi...welcome!!
I have a heated humidifier....cleanliness is very important when it comes to warm water - buggies tend to flourish in that environment.
I wash the humidifier container and (the detachable silicone outer shell of my mask) in antibacterial soap each morning - rinse very well with a vinegar/water solution - and put them on a clean towel to air dry. I also unhook the humidifier hose (which attaches directly to the BiPAP) attach the 6-foot BiPAP hose to the machine and fire it up! While I'm washing the mask-n-stuff I let the machine blow dry the hose - works like a charm!
On Saturday, I toss the humidifier base and container into the dishwasher. The hoses are thoroughly cleaned with antibacterial soap and soaked in a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water....I rinse them thoroughly and blow dry using the BiPAP or let them airdry over the shower rod if there's no hurry.
I use home distilled water in the humidifier and dry the hose thoroughly each morning - my mask is kept very clean as are the filters.
We all have different methods, I'm sure....hope this helps.
