Hot And Sweaty Gold Seal Mask

Posted by Martin Kief on October 20, 1998 at 10:41:27:

I was recently diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and am
currently being treated with a Virtuoso BiPap air system.
I have been working with my local sleep clinic medical
hardware provider to equip me with a mask that will
interface with the BiPap system. My problem is that
after wearing a mask for several hours it becomes hot,
sweaty and irritating. I end up waking up as much from
the mask as I do from the apnea. The medical hardware
vendor has allowed me to try several different styles
and types of masks, but generally seem to have the same
problem with all of them. The gel style seems to be the
best for me but this is not a complete solution. I thought
that you might have some thoughts on this subject as to
what mask(s) might be best for my situation and/or any
other remedial actions I might try.
