Respirational insufficiency is associated with OSA; also, if your body is taking a battering all night long from apnea attacks, your heart, lungs, kidneys, diaphragm, carotid arteries (you name it) are not getting the necessary time to rejuvenate with rest and you are depleted--excercise is more than you can actualy manage.
Also, I noticed that, before cpap, I was suffering from shortness of breath that seemed like asthma, even when I was sitting down. Once I started cpap, it went away. Now I can run upstairs with no problem. This happened even before the weight loss, after about two weeks on cpap. Now I am working out with weights, doing aerobics, hiking in the woods, playing ball with my son, dancing, and leading a scouts club. All with lots of energy, feeling great, and all thanks to the cpap.
Best wishes,
Amy
