UPPP Surgery

Posted by richard on October 21, 1998 at 04:39:48:

For several years I haven't had a good night's sleep. I have been told by my wife that I stop breathing at night (I breath through by mouth) I lose energy after 8 hours of wakefulness. I had a sleep study which determined that I have an 80% sleep efficiency. I kept stop breathing for periods up to 30 seconds. They diagnosed it as mild apnea and recommended UPPP. My doctor recommnded UPPP. I am about 10 lbs. overweight. CPAP is not a good alternative and I've completely ruled it out. I am obviously writing for comments and suggestions. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 1999 and I am somewhat apprehensive.
