I have ont had the problem of falling but I used to sleep sittingup on the edge of my bed most of the night. The if I had to go to the bathroom I would fall asleep sitting there until my legs fall asleep and I have to shake them awake before I could walk. I did fall completely a couple times in the several months and I fell partially many times but always caught myself.
