Aerophagia and sleep fragmentation - information?

Posted by Super-Human Gasbag on September 19, 2000 at 22:22:16:

I was wondering if anyone has any information on aerophagia and sleep fragmentation? It seems that I am between a rock & a hard place with my CPAP treatment – if my pressure is high enough to prevent apneas, I get terrible gas which disrupts my sleep as much as the apnea itself. I will continue the CPAP, as it will still have the physiological benefits, but the psychological problems caused by sleep fragmentation are not being resolved.

Have there been any studies on this particular problem?
