Posted by DT on September 25, 2000 at 08:01:24:I have been on CPAP for about 6 weeks. Using nasal pillows, Sullivan 6 Elite, setting of 6.
It took a little getting used to but has been working good in my opinion. I no longer wake with sweats (wet pillow and shirt), no morning headaches, etc.. I have been dreaming a lot now and I like that.
However, one morning about four days ago, I awoke with pain in/across my chest. (no jaw or left arm) I finally took a couple of asprin and continued with the day. Since then, the same thing has happened with varing degrees of discomfort.
I was wondering if this is heart related or some other problem caused by CPAP. Do chest muscles and/or lungs get sore from exhaling at night? The pain does not return in the day.
Note: I sleep on my side, have all my life, can't seem to sleep on my back.
Any ideas on this. Otherwise, I'm happy so far with cpap.
Thank you,
DT
