Newly diagnosed

Posted by Dave G on September 26, 2000 at 11:30:50:

During my physical exam last March, I mentioned to the doctor that I snored heavily. She asked if my wife ever noticed if I stopped breathing for short periods of time. I told her yes. She told me that I should see an ENT. I went to my PCP to get a referral as required by my insurance company. My PCP told me I may have sleep apnea and should see a sleep specialist. Well, the sleep lab test confirmed that I have mild sleep apnea and I had to go back again for a CPAP titration. I am excited because today I have an appointment with my sleep doctor to go over the results. Hopefully I will have a CPAP soon. I felt so good the day after the CPAP titration. I now know that my constant fatigue, lack of concentration, lack of short term memory, and mild depression isn't caused by a vitamin deficiency (I'm a good customer of GNC) or the early onset of Alzheimer's disease. (I'm only 46)
Its a good feeling to know what's wrong with me but I'm anxious for a CPAP and I'm so disappointed that it is taking so long!
