I am glad to see your excitement, since I am nothing but nervous and depressed about it right now; I was just given the official diagnosis this morning, following my initial sleep study. I must admit it is better to know something, anything, rather than all the wondering about the hypertension, weight gain, headaches and exhaustion, but I am wary of the CPAP, don't like the idea of steroids, and strongly resist the concept of surgery. It might be helpful to know that I am a 36 y/o woman who has been unable for the last two years to work significantly in my profession, which is nursing, due to fatigue and poor concentration, and anxiety related to those things. I have seen a lot of people on CPAP in the hospital, and probably know just enough about the meds and surgery to scare me, but not enough to comfort me. I don't know if I will ever be able to function well as a nurse again, because of the physical and mental demands. Good luck to you, and I hope that after I do my CPAP challenge I am feeling as positive and hopeful as you are now.
