It's hard to say from your post if your doctors actions were appropriate or not, so I'm not going to address that.
But I am going to suggest that you read as much as you can of the past forums so that you are as knowledgeable as possible on apnea. I would also suggest that you read the Non-CPAP Forum.
By understanding your condition, you will have a better idea if your doctor is acting in your best interest.
I'll suggest also that it may be a great time to look for another job. It always looks better to resign than to be terminated.
