Caro, Know how you are feeling! It was totally unacceptable to me to think I would have to be on a machine! I am 50 years old and felt like my world was falling apart when I found out for sure about my severe sleep apnea. This forum is wonderful. Progress is slow. I have slowly but surely made progress. I have a different outlook in regards to my c-pap machine. I sure rejected the idea and was repelled by it and depressed. If you give c-pap a try and stick with it. I think you will be amazed and relieved. You will regain your life. I'm still in the process but definately feel better than I did 4-5 months ago.
IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. I can think of several other health problems which I would rather not have. Take heart- go for it. Give c-pap a try and you will be back working as a nurse doing good things for other people sooner than you think!
