Made it through 1 1/4 year sleep study!

Posted by Debbie on September 27, 2000 at 18:17:22:

Well got through the study with about 2 hours sleep. Could not get comfortable..... Wires, cold room, and small bed! Funny the first time it didn't feel so cold although the bed size and wires were the same! I tried to ask questions of the tech but she directed me to speak to the doctor. She did tell me that the pressure I did well on was 14. My machine at home is set at 15 but I was told that was ok. Do not see sleep doc until Nov 8th.

I did the test with bronchitis! Breathing was very hard for me all week... Along with the coughing and nose blowing! She told me I should have rescheduled but I figured I get this every year so why shouldn't I be tested.

My original reason for check up was the horrible moods I have been in, back problems along with burning sensation in left leg and the inability to get out of bed in the AM. I usually go to sleep about 11PM and need to be at work by 8AM but usually stroll in at 9AM. Boss has been very understanding but I do not want to press my luck.

The tech also told me I move alot when I sleep. I wish she would had told me more but I guess that is out of her authority to do so. I only saw sleep doc once the rest of the year I see a respiratory doctor for check ups. I guess I have to wait till November to find out what other routes I need to explore to find out what is causing these problems. I did better getting up in AM before the CPAP. I guess when you function on nothing its easier?
