I had suffocation dreams often before I started on CPAP, but have not had any since. Also prior to starting CPAP, I had leg cramps almost nightly. Those, too, stopped immediately upon starting CPAP. I suspect the lack of oxygen could affect limbs both by cramping or numbness. For years my hands would "go to sleep" at night. My internest said to keep my hands down at my side rather than up by my face and this did the trick. Pinched nerves was the culprit. It rarely occurs now, but sometimes when I'm sleeping particularly soundly (rare!) my hands drift up to my head and I will wake up from the numbness in my hands. Experiment and see if the "sleeping limbs" might be caused by body position.
