. . . a dramtic improvement - at least in your case - it's probably because you didn't feel rotten to begin with. The distress indicies don't measure how you feel, and don't directly measure "severity."

Stick with it though. Even if you ddidn't feel rotten, you still are at risk for the usual complications.
