Nasal Lavage (Irrigation)

Posted by Fog on December 31, 2000 at 16:14:21:

Although 'nasal lavage' and 'nasal irrigation' sounds a bit off-putting, I have found it to be of great help in clearing nasal passages and in maintaing them clear during cpap use when otherwise the passages would react to the coninued blast of air.

I've found that although various techniques and devices exist, some of them dating back to the tenth century, I have achieved best results by using the water-pik device and a special irrigator tip. (There are three brands to choose from...I won't mention the names here).

I've found that various solutions can be used, but not only is the ionic status of the solution important, so is its temperature.

I'm still having considerable difficulty sleeping, but I do find that my sleep has markedly improved since I started to maintain a regular routine of nasal and sinus irrigation.
