Sandman's observations

Posted by tomjax on December 31, 2000 at 20:06:09:

On the home page a link to Sandman has his first 3 chapters of his journey in OSA. A very fascinating one I might add.
He mentions 2 phenomena I have not seen discussed here. One is a characteristic odor osa sufferers have. Since we are unaware of our body smell unless it is due to bad hygeine, I wonder how many are aware of this. He even notes he can predict very accurately the severity of the osa by the odor.
Another thing that narcoleptics have is a type of out of body experience and the feeling of seeing people around the bed when they are waking. This is news to me and very intersting. Bet lots of shrinks missed this one big time.
As to the question about his sense of humor. Gotta have one to put a 1957 pix of himself on a pony.
I do wish he would tune in occasionally when he sees a big mistake in some of our observations and theories.
