Posted by Doug on December 31, 2000 at 21:09:24:Does anybody have experience with the CPAP/PRO "nasal interface?" I bought one after reading about it on their web site and have beening having problems with my Aria/LX shutting down in the middle of the night when using it. I don't have this problem with nasal pillows or a mask, so I'm pretty sure that it is in some way related to the CPAP/PRO.
I called the maker for technical support and basically got told "tough luck" (the long version goes something like "we've sold thousands of these units, we've never heard of this happening before, the FDA won't let us take it back, have a nice day"). After I pointed out to the fellow that it sure seemed to me like a problem with his product he did agree to take it back, but I'd really have prefered some help in figuring out how to make the device work.
When the device works it seems to be pretty good, but having the Aria shut down in the middle of the night is a major drag. I'm assuming that the shutdown is due to the machine thinking that I've taken the mask off, but the question is why? When I wake up, it is still in place . . .
Thanks.
