If he is self employed, and cannot afford either health insurance, or to self insure, then he has made a business error of not doing proper financial planning, and his business is not successful. Therefoe, you are losing money. You may be making enough to by some groceries, but that is not good enough. Health problems notwithstanding, it is time for him to close his business and get a job that comes with come with health insurance. You also could get a job. It seems that there are a lot of companies crying for workers that don't want to pay much, but that do have essentially paid health insurance. Let me guess, he does not have a million dollar life insurance policy to take care of you either. Along with the financial deficiancy, he now has a serious health deficiency that will only make business matters worse. It would be a shame to see him subsidize his customers with his life.
