Posted by Pookie on January 10, 2001 at 08:10:46:Hello,
I am having surgery on the 9th of Feb and my surgeon has told me I need a sleep study. I have TriCare Standard insurance and was wondering if any other TriCare Standard persons have had TriCare pay for this? I do not have a referal from my PCP because I can't get in to see him, but the Sleep Center that I am going to does not require one. They do take TriCare and TriCare said "as long as it is medically necessary" then it is covered. I have had the run around with TriCare before and I got three different answers from four different people - anyone out there been this route and if you have could you please let me know what I can do to cover my bases?
On a different note, is sleep apnea something that is passed down through the family? My father has it and I was wondering if I could pass it on to my children? That might be a stupid question, but I had to ask.
Thank you
