Posted by CPAPmommy on January 10, 2001 at 08:44:39:I was diagnosed with mod-severe OSA a year ago, though I suspect I've had it since childhood. Dh was diagnosed last fall with mild apnea and come central apneas. Now I am wondering if my 2 1/2 year old son has it too. He has major allergies like the rest of us and snores pretty bad when his nose is conjested (but not much when he is well.) Recently we visited my family and my son shared a room with my brother. My brother told me that he noticed my son stopped breathing several times throughout the night (and he was not having allergy problems that week.) Now I am really concerned, whereas before, I thought I was just being paranoid. He's not showing symptoms of sleep deprivation - he's quite a bright and vivacious kid. Can a toddler wear a CPAP mask? I would imagine that he would fight it. I'm not sure if I should make a big deal out of this or not.
Thanks!
