We try are record night shift workers during the time they normally sleep. We've found that if you work rotating shifts, and rotate faster than every 2 to 3 months (months not weeks) it will not matter when we record you, because your sleep pattern is so screwed up. If night shift workers are recorded at night, the true extent of their disease will not be known, thus the treatment may be suboptimal as well. We've started sleep studies as early as 3 in the afternoon and as late as 10 in the morning.
